Your new company
Your new company is a diverse group of businesses on the outskirts on Lancaster. They are looking to recruit a company accountant on a permanent and full time basis.
Your new role
• Preparation and reporting of monthly management accounts with appropriate variance analysis and commentary to explain performance.
• Ensure balance sheets and cash flows are accurate and reconciled.
• Preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
• Communicate and interpret financial data to non-financial managers.
• Maintain, develop, and implement financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Ensure purchase & sales ledger is maintained and reconciled accurately and in a timely manner.
• VAT returns
• Preparing annual accounts and Corporation tax returns.
What you'll need to succeed
• Strong background in accounting and financial management, with good understanding of reporting procedures and record-keeping.
• Excellent IT skills including MS Office software, and ERP financial packages.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, with ability to use complex formulas and deal with high volumes of processes and data, in particular effective data manipulation (including pivot tables and lookups, etc.)
• Strong written, verbal communication and people skills – ability to manage and influence stakeholders and present financial information to non-financial colleagues.
