A growing London Marker insurer / reinsurer who are going through a significant expansion have an exciting opportunity for a talented and entrepreneurial catastrophe modeller to join its' expanding catastrophe modelling team in Bermuda. The Senior Portfolio Analyst will have the opportunity to work closely with senior business leaders through operating and enhancing the clients' catastrophe modelling and monitoring processes.

The role will offer significant growth potential as part of a motivated team. The individual will be able to expand their end-to-end knowledge of pricing and aggregation management processes and use their skills to help influence our nimble and innovative business.

Duties and Responsibilities

Price full range of catastrophe reinsurance, retro, quota share, whole account and specialty contracts using a combination of vendor models and cedant historical experience
Critically evaluate cedant exposure data and highlight inconsistencies
Produce, cleanse and validate cat modelling inputs from raw data where required
Supervise and review pricing produced by colleagues
Deliver comprehensive and focused analysis to underwriters and senior management, both on a deal by deal and portfolio basis
Accompany underwriting team in broker and client meetings to represent Them
Assist in quarterly rollups of natural catastrophe, non-natural catastrophe and terrorism exposures
Evaluate, summarize and strategize upcoming model changes, and communicate any impacts of model change in a clear and targeted manner to wider business
Ensure that analysis and reporting methodologies are constantly evolving and adapting to new technologies and market conditions
Own part of the Clients View of Risk and apply it, through ongoing research, to future pricing, portfolio management and reinsurance purchasingEssential Skills and Qualifications

University degree, preferably in Mathematics, Science or Economics
Strong academic background and mathematical acumen
5-10 years' experience running catastrophe models, preferably AIR Touchstone and Catrader
Pricing experience across multiple lines of business including Property Treaty, Specialty and Terrorism using both modelled and non-modelled methods, e.g. experience rating, curve fitting
Exceptional Microsoft Office skills, in particular Microsoft Excel
Must be a strong critical thinker who can interrogate the data to ensure it makes sense and provide challenge when required
Must balance working on highly detailed projects as well as overseeing colleagues' work from a higher level
Must be able to respond positively during busy periods through multi-tasking and effective prioritization against needs of businessDesirable Skills and Qualifications

Knowledge across a wide variety of model vendors including RMS, EQECAT, Impact Forecasting and KCC
Ability to develop own code and tools using VBA and Microsoft SQL server
Confident user of DFA software like Remetrica, Metarisk and Igloo
Experience working with developers to automate processes
