Section Engineer

My client is a leading civil engineering contractor renowned for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across various sectors. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Section Engineer to join our team for a major substation project. Role and Responsibilities

As a Section Engineer, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of our substation project. Your duties will include:

Project Supervision:

Overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations on site.
Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
Quality Assurance:

Monitoring and inspecting construction activities to ensure quality control and compliance with design specifications.
Conducting regular site inspections and audits.
Technical Support:

Providing technical guidance and support to site teams.
Resolving technical issues and ensuring effective communication between the design team and site personnel.
Documentation:

Maintaining accurate records of site activities, progress, and any changes to plans or schedules.
Preparing and submitting regular progress reports to project managers.
Health & Safety:

Implementing and enforcing strict health and safety protocols on-site.
Conducting safety briefings and ensuring all personnel adhere to safety standards.
Coordination:

Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression.
Coordinating with project managers to ensure resource availability and optimal project execution.
Problem-Solving:

Identifying and addressing any issues or challenges that arise on-site.
Proactively proposing solutions to maintain project timelines and quality.

Requirements

Education:

Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Relevant professional certifications are a plus.
Experience:

Proven experience as a Section Engineer or similar role in civil engineering, preferably on substation or similar infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, quality control, and health & safety regulations.
Skills:

Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
