A fantastic opportunity has emerged for a Senior Income Recovery Officer/Team Leader to join one of Adecco's most improved Housing Association clients in a temporary assignment, covering sickness leave. This is a full time role (35 hours each week, Monday to Friday), which requires office attendance five days each week so would suit a hands-on, local candidate. This role is initially for three months and may well be extended depending on the recovery of the member of staff.

Based in North London, the annual salary is £40,204.50 but this role will be paid at an hourly rate to the successful candidate. Reporting to the Income and Sustainability Manager you will be responsible for delivering an excellent, customer-focused multi-tenure income collection service within the context of affordability & tenancy sustainability for our client's residents, ensuring value for money, and responsive services to all residents and to act as a positive role model for other staff. This is a hands-on role that requires the post holder to build positive and professional, working relationships with colleagues while working collaboratively with other departments and with external agencies.

Key elements of the role include:

* Ensuring that residents are aware of their responsibility to pay their rent on time and regularly, and to take preventive action to stop them falling into arrears.
* Managing arrears and credits on accounts with residents in line with company policy and procedure including visiting residents in their own homes, assisting in debt management, agreeing repayment plans, and taking possession action where necessary.
* Effectively operating in a matrix environment with key staff in the various teams to deliver a cost effective and resident focussed service that achieves high levels of resident satisfaction across a multi tenure service.
* Making best use of resources and tools ensuring that tenancies are sustained and maximise income by achieving key performance indicators.
* Contributing to continuous improvement of the income collection function to minimise rent loss, reduce arrears and maximise income.
* Providing expert advice and support to residents who are impacted by welfare reform
* Ensuring residents receive appropriate advice and guidance regarding benefits and welfare entitlements to maximise the resident's potential income, making appropriate referrals where identified.
* Attending court and carrying out D.I.Y possession action representing the association in rent-related cases including evictions.
* Implementing the former tenant arrears policy and procedures including action in the small claims court and use of tracing and debt collection agencies.
* Representing the Association on appropriate Local Authority and housing provider Liaison Forums ensuring that relevant information and opportunities are appropriately communicated internally.
* Accurately recording all customer contacts and actions on the customer service management system.
* Delivering quality recruitment, induction, training, and continuous improvement for the team, motivating them to achieve their potential including conducting performance management duties up to and including disciplinary investigations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an operationally strong candidate to lead and motivate two income customer advisors to ensure that they successfully deliver the objectives of their roles and have regular 121s, annual appraisals, and PDPs. You will also be required to manage your own geographical patch of 750 properties across North London. A car driver/owner is not required.

Only applicants with staff management experience and who can start on short notice (1 week maximum) need apply for this role, as our client is keen to interview virtually in week commencing Monday 17th June 2024
