About This Role
As our customer base rapidly expands and our product offerings diversify to encompass SDKs and Documentation, we recognize the need for a customer-centric software engineer to join our team at Fern. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in addressing customer queries, feedback, and tickets, fostering strong relationships with developers across various organizations.
What You Get To Do
Engage Directly with Customers: As the primary point of contact for Fern, you'll interact with customers ranging from CTOs to software engineers. Building strong relationships within the SaaS startup community, especially among YC founders, will be a key aspect of your role.
Drive Product Enhancements: Working across multiple codebases, you'll swiftly address bug fixes and implement new features to support our customers. From resolving issues in our TypeScript SDK generator to enhancing the frontend of our documentation, your contributions will directly impact customer satisfaction.
Shape Product Direction: Armed with valuable insights gained from customer interactions, you'll influence our product roadmap by identifying areas for improvement and proposing innovative solutions. Your ability to understand customer needs and translate them into actionable product enhancements will be critical.
Contribute to Team Growth: Collaborating closely with the CEO, CTO, and other team members, you'll play a key role in expanding our engineering team. Your insights and expertise will be instrumental in attracting and onboard talented engineers.
Requirements
What You Bring To The Team
3+ years of experience as a software engineer
Curiosity and eagerness to learn about both the technical and business aspects of an early-stage startup
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in TypeScript and experience with OpenAPI/Swagger
Flexibility to work with multiple programming languages, such as TypeScript, Python, and Rust
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address technical challenges during customer interactions
(Bonus) Experience working with APIs and SDKs
