A large and highly successful steel stockholding company requires an Account Manager to grow their sales of structural steel products
Whilst mainly office based at the company's Thirsk, YO7 site, the role does require customer visits, meetings and entertainment from time to time.
The role:
* Maintain and strengthen business with existing accounts
* Working in parallel with outside sales team to target and generate business from new accounts
* Field enquiries in a precise, timely and professional manner
* To become a point of reference and support for other Sales teams
* Agree and achieve sales targets in terms of volumes and margin
* Gather and share market intelligence which supports the business to optimise Commercial decisions
Experience and characteristics:
* Prior experience with steel sales is preferred but not essential
* A desire/capability to read drawings
* Strong IT skills and systems skills
* Proven success in previous Sales role
* Goal driven and resilient
* Confident and capable to operate independently but also a good team player
* Effective communicator with strong planning, reporting and presentation skills
* Skilled at forming customer relationships and experienced in negotiations
