Assistant Building Services Manager

We are working with a well established privately owned main contractor with a turnover of £160m and a strong presence across the commercial fit out and super-prime residential sectors who are looking for an assistant technical services manager to join their business. You will work closely with a senior member of their MEP team and shadow them to learn and gain exposure engineering elements at all stages of the project life cylce. They are open to considering engineers (mechanical or electrical) coming from a similar main contracting role or from an M&E contractor or consultancy.

You will be exposed to the below duties

To ensure that the engineering services are installed and commissioned to the required standards and quality., Ensuring technical compliance on projects up to a value of £1.5million. • Involved with design teams and trade contractors at site meeting level and project meeting level and contributes toward the project report. • Reviews design and shop drawings, and the project programme and contributes value engineering skills. • Responsible for suggesting trade contractors, systems and manufacturers for team appraisal. • Carries out M&E appraisals and contributes these to proposal team for inclusion in proposal. • Attends at pitch' meetings. • Take involvement in completion of the monthly engineering services status report and submitting it promptly to the SESM. • Ensuring compliance with appropriate sections of the Best Practice Manual. • Identifying, solving and reporting issues likely to affect each project. • Paying close attention to matters of health and safety. • Ensuring compliance with appropriate sections of the Best Practice Manual. • Identifying, solving and reporting issues likely to affect each project. • Paying close attention to matters of health and safety. • Starts to develop marketing relationships with external professionals and clients. • Starts to develop strategic relationships with suppliers and contractors.
