Job Title: CAD Technician – Solar PV & BESS (Commercial & Utility)
Location: Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire (In office full time)
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000
About the company:
An independent consultancy in Tewkesbury is looking for an experienced CAD technician to join its team. This company is currently working with some of the largest renewable EPCs and developers as an outsourced service and are looking to hire due to their continued expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and design solar and battery storage projects, ensuring they meet technical specifications, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
Utilise software tools, including AutoCAD and PVCase, to create, modify, and optimise design layouts.
Liaise with clients to explain your technical designs.
Work on projects ranging from 25MW to 1GW, focusing on large-scale solar installations and the emerging field of battery storage projects.
Requirements:
Previous experience in solar PV and battery storage layout design is highly desirable.
Familiarity with solar PV design principles, AutoCAD, and PVCase (or willingness to learn PVCase).
Strong project planning and execution skills, with a focus on meeting timelines and budgets.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with internal teams and clients.
