I am currently recruiting a Senior Packaging Technologist for one of the worlds most exciting FMCG companies. They have a vast portfolio and diverse range of products which they are looking to innovate.

The Role:
As a Senior Packaging Technologist in our R&D department, you will lead the development and implementation of sustainable packaging solutions from concept to launch. This position reports directly to the R&D Packaging Team Manager and plays a critical role in fulfilling our legal packaging obligations and public commitments to the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide expert guidance in our stage gate process, collaborating with procurement, production, marketing, and public affairs teams to develop sustainable packaging solutions.

* Lead the introduction of new materials and technologies, keeping pace with market trends and competitor strategies.

* Participate in forums that drive our agenda for sustainable packaging, contributing to infrastructure and communication strategies.

* Manage packaging specifications for raw materials and finished products, ensuring robust risk management and supply chain sustainability.

* Work closely with Purchasing and Commercial teams to identify cost reduction opportunities while maintaining product quality and consumer satisfaction.

What We’re Looking For:

* A degree in Packaging, Material Science, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in an FMCG business’s packaging team.

* Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional project teams.

* A deep passion for sustainability with a track record in sustainable packaging initiatives.

* Comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing process, ideally within FMCG, Drinks, Shampoos, or familiarity with similar liquid packaging technologies or materials involving metal, glass, plastic and cardboard.

* Strong knowledge and operation of ISO, BRC, HACCP, and other quality management systems.
