Your profile

• Completed field of studies specializing in computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics or another technical degree related to computer science
• First experience in the development and programming of robot systems, and ideally deep insight into the Robot Operating System (ROS), ROS Control and MoveIT
• First experience in Python and C++. Do you already have code on GitHub? Then feel free to share examples from your past work with us.
• Practical experience gained, for example, as a intern or working student (maximum of 1,5 years)
• Desire to realize joint projects in an innovation environment with a committed, talented and friendly team
• Flexibility to work at different ZEISS locations in Germany during the program
• Fluent in English & German, both written and spoken, further languages beneficial

Your Role

During the 18 months, you will rotate between 4 different ZEISS departments across the company's different business units and possibly also abroad. Which departments these are depends on you - your chosen focus and your future role. During the program, you will also take part in several training sessions, workshops and project work that enhances your professional and personal development. All this aims at enabling you to hit the ground running after completing the program - and make you familiar with the basics to kickstart your
Possible tasks within the program:

• Develop robotics prototypes and work on system concepts, including sensor fusion, machine learning, control engineering, HMI, etc.
• Collaborate with different teams to drive innovation at the intersection of technology and application
• Get to know our products and customers
• Contribute to ongoing projects, possibly with academic partners
