Procurement Manager

Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be representing a prestigious manufacturer, who are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to join their team in the Hull. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing supplier relationships, as well as a deep understanding of their products. 
  
Responsibilities:
Manage the entire procurement process, from identifying suppliers and negotiating contracts.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring a consistent and reliable supply of materials.
Source and negotiate competitive pricing for materials and services, while ensuring quality standards are met.
Drive an overhauling of the companies S&OP 
Stay up-to-date on market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Work closely with internal departments, such as production, engineering, and finance, to ensure procurement activities align with overall business goals.
Manage and motivate a team of supply chain assistants
Create accurate forecasts to optimise the supply chain against demand and trends.
Conduct suppliers reviews on cost and performance and identify areas for improvement, working alongside the Procurement Director.
Some overseas and UK travel will be required to visit suppliers.   
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role.
Proven track record of successfully negotiating and managing supplier contracts.
Strong understanding of procurement best practices and cost-saving techniques.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with experience of managing a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP is a plus.
