Laboratory Technician (£24k - £30k)

The Opportunity:
To play a key role in delivering crucial projects and improving patient outcomes for a growing business. You’ll be planning and carrying out laboratory work and reporting results.
Key Responsibilities:
* Working independently to perform lab protocols according to work instructions & SOP’s
* Working with the Quality Management System (QMS) to prepare, review and update laboratory documentation
* Troubleshooting and problem-solving technical issues and equipment issues and overseeing the maintenance of reagent and materials inventory
* Contributing towards upholding laboratory cleanliness and equipment maintenance
* Abiding by safety requirements as defined by the company. Proper use of PPE for handling human and other biological materials and chemicals
Skills & Experience:
* Experience of working in a laboratory as part of a team
* Efficient time management skills
* BSc or MSc in a relevant subject or equivalent commercial experience
* Lab experience within a commercial, industrial or hospital environment (GMP or ISO complaint laboratory) is advantageous
* Experience with programming and validation of automated processes or proficiency in Microarray processing and analysis is especially desirable
