Quantity Surveyor

Westwood Recruitment are currently on the lookout for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our award winning-chartered construction client on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of projects exceeding £15 million, serving as the primary commercial lead on-site, and collaborating with team members when necessary.

Your primary focus will be on projects within the Mixed-Use and Commercial Sectors. Although your main base will be at the Head Office in Newry, occasional visits to sites in Northern Ireland / ROI will be required.

Role Responsibilities

• Monthly CVRs

• Participation in monthly project reviews with the Contracts Director as needed

• Close collaboration with Contracts Management and Procurement teams

• Attendance at client progress meetings

• Management/support for Junior Surveyors

• Issuing Sub-Contract documentation, including Collateral Warranties

• Assessment and certification of sub-contractor interim payments and final accounts, ensuring the issuance of required payment/pay-less notices

• Preparation, submission, and agreement of Interim Valuations

• Assistance with the preparation of extension of time and loss and expense submissions

• Establishment, maintenance, and enhancement of effective working relationships

• Submission and negotiation of final accounts

• Identification, notification, and valuation of changes

Role Requirements

• You should have a background as a Main Contractor with project experience of £5 million or more.

• A minimum of 5/6 years of post-graduate experience is required.

• Knowledge of Current Forms of Contract is essential.

• Experience in mixed-use/commercial projects is a must.

• Possession of a BSc in Quantity Surveying is ideal but not essential.

• Attained or working towards membership in RICS.
