The Role.

The Operations Manager will oversee the operational effectiveness of the company, ensuring the smooth running and strategic alignment of projects and operational deliverables. This role includes managing all staff across a multi site business and will drive the business to increase profits through strategic oversight and detailed analysis of process inefficiency, productivity, and quality of deliverables

Job Overview

Accountable for overall performance of all locations including HSE, Quality, Fabrication, OTIF, Site Service, etc

Responsibilities and Duties

* Support, coach and develop direct reports in all aspects of their roles to ensure a dynamic and continuously improving work environment

* Analyse current outputs and drive quantified operational effectiveness

* Focus on quality, waste reduction and the removal of non-value added activities.

* Create initiatives to allow better utilisation of Site Service Fitters and also increased utilisation for those within the sites in West Yorkshire and Hertfordshire

* Work with Sales Manager to ensure optimisation of gross margin on existing and future business

* Ensure Operations Teams have the right headcount, of the right quality and to the required skills matrix by location

* Review equipment and processes to ensure we have the most effective offering in place to ensure best effectiveness and scalable for business growth

* Provide a leadership support function to teams and motivate staff to achieve production goals.

Requirements

* BSc/HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification

* End to End Operations experience & knowledge (Supply Chain, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Stock Management / Control, Quality, Health & Safety

* Continuous improvement initiatives, utilisation of Lean tools, reducing process waste/variation and consistently improved product quality

* Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and demanding environment with multiple on-going short/long term tasks

* A knowledge of Mechanical Power Transmission or Rotating Equipment

This is a full time position that can be based anywhere in North or West Yorkshire.
