Software Quality Test Engineer

We are currently seeking a proficient and detail-oriented Software Quality Test Engineer to play a pivotal role in our mission. In this position, you will spearhead the end-to-end testing process, ensuring seamless and punctual product releases while upholding the highest standards of quality. We are looking for an individual with a robust background in Testing and Quality Assurance for connected consumer electronics.
Location: Metro Detroit, MI
(Candidates must reside in MI.)
Responsibilities: 
Lead quality assurance efforts across the entire product stack, emphasizing hardware testing and validation activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive test plans, procedures, and execution strategies.
Investigate hardware bugs and issues in-depth, collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Champion testing best practices, driving continuous improvement through innovation and iteration.
Thrive in a dynamic, global team environment, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
Document and communicate test results and strategies clearly and effectively.
Requirements
Demonstrated hands-on experience in testing Linux-based hardware devices, with a strong understanding of testing sensors and hardware peripherals.
5+ years of experience in quality assurance or software engineering roles, with a focus on connected consumer electronics.
Experience with mobile apps testing or development or IoT devices.
Proficiency in automated testing frameworks and methodologies, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience.
Experience in building test rigs and conducting test procedures with product hardware.
Familiarity with AWS services and experience with continuous deployment pipelines using GitLab.
Solid grasp of QA tool development chains and environments.
Proficiency in various types of testing, including regression, performance, stress, end-to-end, integration, and security testing.
Good understanding of serial communication methods.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Base Salary: $77,835.00 - $(phone number removed) USD
