Our client are specialists in their market sector, they are looking for a highly skilled Operations Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

The Job you’ll do

* Manage the company as a whole ensuring high quality business activities with maximum efficiency, service and profitability.

* Ensure the business performs to its legal/statutory regulations, professional duties, responsibilities and obligations , Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Best Practice Guidelines and ISO certification.

* Develop and implement plans for the growth of the business.

* Look for and implement continual improvements.

* Be accountable for all four pillars every day – safety, quality, reliability and cost.

* Be responsible for ensuring the operational team understand the operations process and follow it through from beginning to end.

* Keep the production schedule updated and running to plan. Advise the office manager immediately if any orders will be delayed.

* Carry out Daily informal review with operational teams to assess any changes in the plan, observations and quality.

* Ensure the machines are running at the best possible efficiency rate they can.

* ensure customer orders are delivered on time and within specification.

* Manage and reduce downtime on the machines and progress with the Outstanding Issues List.

* Oversee the maintenance of the customer tools.

* Make sure all tools are kept in the locations next to the machine used and box numbers and part numbers are written on the tools to coincide with the des sheets.

* Produce standard operating procedures and keep them updated.

* Continually update DES Sheets adding in important information required to run each current part.

About You

* Communication skills – understanding of how to engage and interact with internal teams and external partners (customers, suppliers).

* Travel will be involved in this role for an initial period, candidate will be required to travel to Yorkshire.

* Manage a team, with the ability to suggest ideas for change and implement processes

* Planning and organising – understanding the production planning process and aligning that to materials requirements.

* IT skills essential – keeping stock records and transactions up to date.

* A team player – open and honest interactions with all employees.

* 5S and visual management techniques.

* Plastic Moulding Experience.

* Setting and use of CNC machines (3 and 5 axis).

* Sales and account management in manufacturing.

* Experience in lean operations and challenging waste.
