Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mid-Level Estimating Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The Estimating Engineer will play a crucial role in accurately assessing project costs, reviewing blueprints, and preparing detailed quotes for manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in blueprint reading, strong analytical skills, and a proven ability to provide accurate project estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze project requirements, technical specifications, and blueprints to understand the scope of work and materials needed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and procurement to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimation.
Utilize expertise in blueprint reading to interpret technical drawings, identify key components, and understand manufacturing processes required for the project.
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of materials, labor, overhead, and other costs associated with manufacturing processes.
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for manufacturing projects, considering all factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to gather pricing information and ensure the accuracy of cost estimates.
Participate in cost analysis and value engineering discussions to identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining product quality.
Stay updated on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and manufacturing advancements that may impact cost estimation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating engineering or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical blueprints and engineering drawings.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven ability to accurately assess project costs and prepare detailed quotes.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes, materials, and production techniques.
Proficiency in using relevant software tools for cost estimation and analysis.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with value engineering and cost analysis is a plus.
Hours:
Full Time - 40 hours per week
Monday - Friday
