Position: QHSE Manager; Full-Time (40hrs p/wk.)
Location: Huddersfield, Free on-site parking.
Who you are!
We are seeking a QHSE Manager to support the plant in ensuring a continued drive for quality excellence whilst ensuring that all HSE standards are met.
The Opportunity
You will play an active role in ensuring customer quality satisfaction is maintained and improved and that we operate a safety first culture.
This is a brand new role. We are looking for a knowledgeable Manager who works well as part of a manufacturing team, actively driving for quality improvements, and sharing their skills and best practice with others.
Key Responsibilities:
Management
§ Managing the day to day, quality and HSE requirements.
§ Managing a team of 3 inspectors.
§ Facilitating non-conformance management activities.
§ Ensuring customer complaints are dealt with in a timely fashion by cross-functional teams.
§ Facilitating safety and quality process awareness and training across the business.
§ Lead by example for safety and quality behaviours and drive to improve.
Quality
§ Continue to develop the existing quality system.
§ Report non-conformances or internal FFI reject notes and support other departments in developing robust corrective actions to ensure continual improvements and root cause analysis.
§ Focus on improving process and management control to minimize internal non conformances.
§ Understand customer quality requirements and translate these into effective management processes to ensure that quality requirements are met and exceeded.
§ Act as the voice of the customer whenever quality concerns arise.
§ Offering cross department support to ensure quality targets are met.
§ Using data-driven methods to identify and lead quality improvement activities across the business.
Environmental
· Ensure compliance with all relevant current and future Environmental standards.
· Actively manage the requirements for ISO 14001, Yorkshire Water and the Environment agency.
Health and safety
• Review update and revise current HS policy to ensure compliance with current and future legislation and best practices.
• Point of contact for day-to-day HSE queries.
• Introduce training with measurable KPI’s for continuous HS improvement.
• Review and manage risk assessments COSHH data and develop and monitor actions to ensure effective management.
Audits
• Prepare manage, complete and support all external audits.
• Including;
o Quality:- ISO9001, Qualanod, customer specific audits.
o Environmental:- ISO 14001, Yorkshire Water and Environment agency.
• Develop the existing internal audit system and complete audits across the business.
• Using data-driven methods to identify and lead quality improvement activities across the business.
Lead Quality Improvement Activities
• Deliver tangible savings to the business via Continuous Improvement projects.
• Support develop and update Business Management System and associated processes.
• Introduce improvements and continue to develop a Safety and Quality culture.
• Provide support in implementing HSE projects and programs.
Desirable Technical Skills:
• A solid understanding of the key principles of ISO9001 Quality Management
System requirements is essential.
· Understanding of the chemical and electrical process parameters for sulphuric acid anodising to work with and support our lab technician
• Knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001 Environmental and Health & Safety management system requirements is desirable.
Experience ( ideally )
• At least 2-4 years’ experience in a quality manager role within a manufacturing / production company with direct hands-on day to day responsibility for Quality Health and safety.
• A current understanding of environmental legislation, and developing plans and investment projects to ensure compliance.
• Able to lead and motivate employees throughout the business, from daily operations through to management.
• Experience of Managing QHSE system with monthly reporting for management.

Qualifications Required
• HNC/HND, relevant degree, NEBOSH or equivalent in Engineering, Quality or HSE.
• Six Sigma Green-Belt qualification (Desirable).
• Industry experience in Quality Engineering or a mix of HSE and Quality.
