Process Blancher/ Freezer/ Sortex PLT

Our client is a global market leader of Fresh and Frozen produce, due to their increasing demand, growth, and development they are seeking to employ a Process Blancher/Freezer/Sortex PLT for their site in Boston site, to start as soon as possible.

Reporting directly to the Production Manager & Shift Team Leader

Shift & Hours are:

Days 06.00 – 18.00 – shift pattern 3on-2off-2on

Hourly rate £16.22 per hour.

This is a temp to perm role.

Purpose/Objectives of Role:

To make the most cost-effective use of plant machinery, whilst achieving food safe quality and quantity requirements. Assisting in maintaining a safe, clean, and hygienic working environment, with GMP compliance.

Duties include:

Adhere to all relevant Food safety systems & procedure.

Responsible for the cleaning and effectiveness of the riffle beds and completing the relevant documentation.

Ensure all 5 FM capture points are clean and working correctly (liaise with Raw Material PLT for information on the 4 outside FM removal points), complete documentation.

Alert the relevant team members to any excessive levels of stones.

Responsible for all products being blanched, (Guaicol testing) to within the set parameters, and record on the live blancher files.

Ensure blancher de-watering areas are clean, and free from debris, hourly.

Assist production staff with any product change overs, defrosts and wash downs.

Ensure that all waste is suitably managed and re-cycled where possible.

Liaise and co-operate with all, team members (especially the freezer QA) to help with the smooth running of the shift.

Ensure that all Sortex equipment is set up correctly and is kept clean from any build-up of debris and snow that may affect cleaning performance.

Carry out sortex spike and air pressure testing.

Carry out Sortex calibrations.

Carry out a suitable handover with counter parts on the preceding and following shifts.

Ensure working area meets GMP compliance at all times.

Ensure floors and frame works are clean and tidy, from Pea Silos to blancher de-watering through to freezer end.

Any other ad hoc duties as may be required from time to time.

Requirements for the role:

Suitable experience of seasonal processing within frozen food factory

Computer literate

Blancher experience (desirable)

Forklift licence (desirable)

Freezer experience (desirable)

Sortex experience (desirable)

Personal Skills

Organisational skills

Ability to communicate with different levels of the organisation

Attention to detail with regards to cleanliness and hygiene

Ability to lead a small team.

Be flexible & to work anywhere on site as business demands change.
