This is a hands-on role where you will need to lead efficient and effective preventative maintenance and breakdown cover, looking after and maintaining machinery and ancillaries. To ensure machinery breakdowns and repairs are completed in a timely manner and at minimum cost to production. Using your own initiative and prioritise the workload for the maintenance team. It is essential to be able to communicate effectively and understand written and verbal communication.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & REPONSIBILITIES:

* Ensure all Health and Safety, Environmental and Housekeeping standards and requirements are adhered to at all times. Ensuring you always work in a safe manner, following company policies and procedures and any breaches are reported to your line manager or any member of the management team immediately.

* Ensure all checks are completed to company requirements.

* To be committed to and champion a strong SHEQ (Safety Health Environment Quality) culture on site. Safeguarding that staff are competent, adequately trained and supported to enable them to carry out their duties safely.

* Maintain a robust internal control environment in order to comply with procedures in line with ISO 9001 & 14001 regulations

* Ensure that you and your team always work to safe working practices and current training standards and ensure training records are always up to date.

* To monitor the work of contractors attending site from signing in and leaving site ensuring they always comply to the company Safe Working systems and any required RAM’s are in place prior to work commencing.

* Ensure weekly fire alarm tests are carried out and assist with the evacuation procedure.

* Compile, plan and execute a complete PPM plan for all of the sites using predominantly in house staff.

* Utilise and train Production Operatives for PPM requirements where appropriate.

* To prioritise maintenance engineering duties as required on a daily basis or as directed by the Operations Director.

* Track, analyse and improve key maintenance parameters such as asset utilisation, maintenance cost, PPM compliance, mandatory schedule compliance including but not limited to LOLER, Pressure Vessels including steam, PUWER, Access platforms or any other items assigned by the senior Management.

* Supervise and manage all plant maintenance personnel’s performance KPI’s and objectives and development along with close management of T&A issues, holidays and any breaches in discipline.

* Manage facilities and utility records.

* Manage projects and task with the cooperation of relevant teams and managers.

* Conduct employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance engineers.

* To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job, as requested by the Operations Director.

EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND

Desired

* Qualified Electrical or Mechanical Engineer - Electrical bias. 18th edition qualified or equivalent.

* Qualified to work on high voltage to at least 1 KW

* Significant experience in a manufacturing environment

* Strong planning and organisational skills

* Effective Communicator at all levels

* Experience of WAH

* Ability to demonstrate a high level of technical competence

* Ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated and driven to achieve set targets

* Experience working with or setting up PPM schedules

* Forklift truck License

* IPAF license

* IOSH Managing Safely (Must be willing to acquire)

* LEAN Six Sigma green belt
