Equipment Engineer

We are looking for a suitably skilled person to work as part of the Social Services Occupational Therapy Team to support clients in their own homes or to support service users returning home from hospital. The emphasis is on the provision of equipment and minor adaptations to promote rehabilitation and independence within service users homes.

You will be required to deliver and fit equipment, ensure adaptations meet appropriate techical specifications, contribute to the design, construction or alteration of one off items of equipment, ensure client's safe and appropriate use of equipment/adaptations and develope and maintain an appropriate stock control system in conjunction with line manager and other team members.

As you willl be working within customer's homes you will need to either hold an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to complete an enhanced DBS check if successful.

This is a temporary contract to cope with increased work loads.

Yoi will need to have a time served apprenticeshop or NVQ in joinery or equivalent, experience of all aspects of joinery work, proven awareness of safe working, good written and verbal communication skills, your own transport which must be suitable for transporting equipment and be physically capable of undertaking the duties and meeting the travel requirements of the role
