Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance engineer for one of our Dudley based clients who manufacturer and produce innovative plumbing supplies.
Our client is a 100 year old family run company incorporating a number of businesses that focuses on designing, developing, manufacturing and selling specific products to suit thier customer needs.

Job Purpose Of A Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:
To be responsible for the continuous running of all equipment and machinery within the department. By using a computerised CMMS system, you will perform scheduled, breakdown and installation tasks that are vital for the efficiency of the department. Working closely with other professions to problem solve and improve processes and areas.
Responsibilities Of A Mechanical Maintenance Engineer :
* To carry out planned and reactive maintenance as instructed by the maintenance supervisor
* To close / update completed scheduled tasks on the site computerized maintenance system
* Ensure engineering standards are maintained to maximize the operation effectiveness and reliability of the plant and associated systems.
* Ensure Company & Site, Health & Safety procedures are always followed.
* To assist specialist subcontractor’s requirements both for PPM and reactive works
* To inspect the condition of services and proactively deal with callouts/repairs as required, and requested by management
Requirements Of A Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:
* Systems experience – Hydraulics & pneumatics (understand drawings & able to diagnose/ fault find systems)
* Knowledge in mechanical principles – Gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, drives & belts, pumps (both hydraulic & water)
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a similar role
* Commitment to Quality, environment & health and safety
* To be able to work in an organised manner with good time management.
* Be able to work well in a close team with a positive can-do attitude
* Strive for improvements
* Be flexible and adaptable
* Experience working with IMM’s (desirable only)
Hours of work
Monday to Thursday - 6.30am till 4pm
Friday - 6.30am till 2pm
43 hour week
Hourly Rate
Upto £17.00 per hour depending on experience
