Location: Birmingham city centre with hybrid working

Salary: 50k - 58k plus package

Emtech are working with a UK Wide Multi Disciplinary Engineering Consultancy with 300+ staff who are looking for a Principal Civil Engineer to join their team in Birmingham. The team are working on a wide range of medium to large scale projects across healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, rail and infrastructure.

They are looking for an experience Civil Engineer with a background in infrastructure design for development let projects to join their team. You will have a team of Engineers & Technicians to support you and be expected to oversee project work and communicate with clients.

Ideally you will have the following experience:

Technical experience within the field of Civil Engineering design, covering several aspects of preliminary and detailed design of levels, drainage and external works
An aptitude using industry standard design software packages AutoCad, Civil 3D and MicroDrainage (or similar).
You will understand the multi-disciplinary nature of projects from planning stage, through to completion and a willingness to understand more about other discipline roles on projects
Experience liaising with both internal and external bodies, including planning authorities, statutory undertakers and national bodies such as the Environment Agency
You will understand the importance of working with different types of client in a complex industry - clients include developers, local authorities and contractors, all of whom have different expectations and requirements from you and the projects you will work on
Commercial awareness within your field of experience
Willingness to develop an outward facing capacity as a design team representative in dealings with clients on technical matters
A willingness to delegate design responsibility to others and act in a mentoring role to less experienced staff
Good communicator, both written and oral, with the ability to adapt communication style to suit different circumstances
