Equipment Mechanic

1 Resource Group, a is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our clients team in Elizabethtown, KY. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks on diesel, gas and propane engines and related components.
Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
Inspects lift trucks and equipment to determine the extent of repairs.
Performs needed repairs on gasoline, diesel, and propane engines with minimal instruction.
Inspects, adjusts, and repairs components as needed.
Repairs cooling, fuel, electrical, and exhaust systems using diagnostic tools.
Performs preventative maintenance as needed to improve the condition and performance of the fleet.
Operates equipment to troubleshoot and test equipment as needed.
Maintains records of all maintenance performed.
Assists parts department in shipping and receiving of motor freight.
Takes service calls and provides assistance when the Service Manager is unavailable.
Cleans and maintains garage area as needed.
Other related duties as required.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines and their components.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engine issues.
Experience in performing engine overhauls.
Ability to interpret repair manuals and schematics.
Good understanding of electrical systems and diagnostics.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform strenuous tasks.
