As C&I Design Engineer, you will provide and apply key technical skills related to Control and Instrumentation systems to enable the successful delivery of projects and programmes across the UK. You'll proactively participate in the specification, design, development, and implementation of Electrical, Control & Instrumentation systems for my client.

What your days look like:

* Prepare plans and estimates for tender proposals

* Raise TQ’s against project specifications

* Lead medium to large scale projects on Energy Control Systems, from concept through to detailed design

* Take the technical lead for control and safety systems.

* Produce control systems documentation including system architecture, control philosophies and control system software specifications.

* Assess and capture project requirements, developing design proposal

* Attend HAZOP assessments, design reviews and project meetings

* ​​​Providing engineering support during construction and commissioning.

Experience / Qualifications

* Qualified in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent, and relevant professional experience in a controls system engineering role. Or equivalent qualification level, with a greater breadth and depth of experience/knowledge.

* ​​​​Demonstratable working knowledge of control system protocols (Modbus, MBUS, BACnet, PROFINET, Ethernet etc.)

* Good understanding of EC&I documents (SLDs, P&IDs, C&Es, Schematics etc.)

* Good working knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems, BMS

* Good understanding of mechanical systems

* Good knowledge of safe working practices and procedures, with experience of assisting with preparing safety documentation (i.e. risk assessments, method statements, permits, isolations etc)
