The Opportunity:
For this Payroll Specialist position, you will be part of a team of four and you will assist with the end-to-end payroll function for up to 10 of their UK sites.
Some of the key responsibilities for this successful person would be but no limited to:
* Maintaining payroll information by collating, calculating and entering data for 1,400 staff
* Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions and saving deductions
* Preparing reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave, compassionate leave and non-taxable wages
* Pension administration
* Calculating payroll liabilities by determining employee taxes, including federal and state income and social security tax, and calculating employer’s payments for social security, unemployment and worker’s compensation
* Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries
* Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures
* Processing and issuing P45 forms to employees
* Maintenance of time and attendance system
* Ad-hoc duties as advised by the Payroll Manager
The Candidate
The successful Payroll Specialist will be/have:
* 1+ years’ experience either as a Payroll Administrator or Finance Administration position.
* Also, we would consider an Apprentice with finance experience.
* Also, you may be interested in a full time or part time position (minimum 20 hours)
* OPEN on industry including Third sector or Charity
* Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail
* Strong computer skills such as typing, system and software knowledge
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with employees regarding their issues and concerns
* Being an effective team player and have sound decision-making skills
* Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment with specific deadlines
* Ability to work independently and to deadline
* Confidentiality and respect for the privacy of employee records is essential

This is an office based position
Hours of work - (Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm and Friday 8am - 1pm)
Option of overtime or time in lieu for extra work during w/c 15th of every month
