QAQC Electrical inspector

QAQC Electrical Inspector required for a major Offshore Wind Farm Developer based in Dubai.

Responsibilities

Conduct visual inspections of electrical components, systems, and installations to ensure they meet design and safety standards.
Perform electrical testing and measurements, such as voltage, current, and resistance testing, to verify the functionality of electrical systems.
Verify that electrical work complies with applicable codes, standards, and regulations, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC) or local building codes.
Ensure that electrical installations adhere to project-specific requirements and blueprints.
Maintain detailed records of inspection findings, test results, and any non-conformities identified during inspections.
Prepare inspection reports and documentation to communicate findings to project managers, contractors, and relevant stakeholders.
Ensure that electrical installations adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent hazards, electrical shocks, and fire risks.
Report any safety violations or unsafe practices to project supervisors and management.
Inspect electrical components for defects, damage, or poor workmanship and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
Monitor the quality of materials used in electrical installations to ensure they meet specifications.
Identify and document non-conforming work or components and work with contractors to develop and implement corrective actions.
Verify that corrective actions have been taken to rectify identified issues.
Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to enhance the quality and efficiency of electrical work.
Collaborate with project managers, electrical contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all parties are aware of inspection results and necessary actions.
Conduct meetings and discussions to address quality-related concerns and ensure clarity on project requirements.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, codes, and regulations related to electrical work.
Provide training and guidance to contractors and personnel to help improve their understanding of quality and compliance requirements.
Conduct final inspections to ensure that all electrical work has been completed correctly before project handover.Requirements

BSc or equivalent in an electrical/engineering field or relevant subject.
3+ years' experience in electrical inspection, electrical installation, or a related field.
Working at Heights certificate or equivalent GWO.
Strong familiarity with relevant electrical codes and standards is essential.
Proficiency in electrical testing equipment and tools is necessary for conducting inspections and tests.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and their installation.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Effective verbal and written communication skills to document inspection findings and communicate them with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders.
The ability to troubleshoot electrical issues and propose solutions is valuable.
A strong commitment to safety is critical to ensure that electrical installations meet safety standards and do not pose hazards.
