UKPN Services is looking for a Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Advisor to work within its SHE team based in Heathrow office and along the M3 corridor.
The main purpose of the role is to provide competent health, safety and sustainability advice to managers, staff, contractors, clients and the general public, and to promote the requirements of the health and safety management system.
The key responsibilities include: interpreting and monitoring SHE procedures and legal obligations; participating in various SHE committees and forums; working with the management team to implement SHE goals and action plans; providing a monitoring function for contractors and services; engaging and consulting with Union Safety Representatives and Non Union Safety Representatives; participating in and co-ordinating compliance audits; helping with the development and delivery of SHE training and communication materials; supporting the SHE incident investigation process; reviewing method statements; undertaking regular random inspections and audits; and monitoring workplace facilities, vehicles and transport arrangements.
The essential qualifications for the role are: holding or working towards the NEBOSH Certificate and the IOSH in Managing Your Environmental Responsibilities; having varied work experience in the main activities undertaken by the Services business; having operational competencies or previous experience; being flexible and able to prioritise work; having experience in conducting safety inspections or audits; being a team player and able to build relationships within the business and with clients; being proficient in IT software packages such as Microsoft Office; holding a valid UK driving licence; and attaining and retaining multiple MOD, airside and rail access passes and licences.
The role requires travelling to multiple sites across the network, including Heathrow Airport, Gatwick Airport, Stansted Airport, London City Airport, Luton Airport and High Speed 1 (HS1), and representing UK Power Networks Services at operational and senior management level with external partners.
The successful candidate will be a permanent employee with a salary of £61,723 and a bonus of 3%, as well as other benefits such as annual leave, pension plan, tenancy loan deposit scheme, and discounted access to sports and social clubs.
