ONE YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT, (MATERNITY LEAVE COVER) WITH SOME KEY PROJECTS TO MAKE YOUR OWN.

We are looking for a Head of Communications to ensure all communication functions align with the company’s overall messaging strategy and business objectives. Someone capable of managing long term strategic communications plans and providing overall editorial control; ensuring appropriate content, tone and consistency. Paying close attention to the brand’s values and how these are expressed; externally to clients and the public, internally to colleagues, and B2B in partnerships.

The successful candidate would be accountable for leading a small communications team to generate interesting and informative content, for all our content channels, to improve brand awareness and positive brand image, whilst managing the SEO content to improve organic rankings.

Proactively and continuously identifying opportunities to improve communications across the business and delivering an informed and data-led communications strategy, which aligns with the marketing department objectives and the growth strategy of the business.

A guaranteed basic salary of £50,000

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:

Maintaining brand reputation and generating positive brand image
Increasing direct, referral & organic (SEO) web visits
Removing friction in customer journey communications
Maximising communication opportunities for referral/retention/renewal/re-engaging
Engaging colleagues in company culture & events
Key project to rejuvenate the consumer portal
Key project to deliver video content for TV ads
Managing relationships with external agencies

Maintain Brand Reputation

Review data, provide insights & actions
Maintain brand toolkit, media & content assets
Overall content quality control
Media relations management
Reviews management

Increasing web traffic

Understand keyword landscape
Create engaging content & campaigns
Ensure technical webpage SEO
Understand sharing opportunities

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience working within an FCA regulated role preferred.

5 years + experience in media and/or communication role.
5 years + experience in a copywriting role.
Expertise of the digital marketing landscape, including SEO.Experience understanding complex information and translating it into simple and powerful messaging that inspires users and audiences.
Experience in a range of communication channels, particularly new media
Ability to think outside the box within a crowded market
Ability to be agile and respond quickly and positively to change
An ambassador of the brand and strategy, able to translate this into benefits for the customer
Degree in business, marketing, English, PR, Journalism or similar fields
Strong communication skills
Strong copywriting skills
A keen researcher, able to interview people to source stories and connect with new media contacts
Attention to detail.
Can communicate at board-level.
Ability to lead a small team and work alongside stakeholders.
Experience in TV ads.
Experience with client portals.
