If this sounds like you, you might be surprised to know that formal teaching assistant training or prior experience isn’t a must. Schools prioritise qualities like compassion, patience, and resilience over specific backgrounds. There's no uniform path, and some of the best Teaching Assistants (TAs) come from diverse experiences. Examples include:

We are currently looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join our team either immediately or starting in September at a specialist autism school in Patchway. On my first visit to this school, I was deeply impressed by the dedication and care of the support staff (and the distinctive scent of chlorine from the hydrotherapy pool!). With amenities like a soft play area and forest school, each day is engaging and growth is measured across all developmental areas, not just standardized tests. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
