Contract Scotland is working with our client based in East Kilbride to recruit a Financial Controller to join their established. This is a full time, permanent position offering a highly competitive salary as well as the chance to work with a business currently experiencing unprecedented growth in their sector. 
You will be full-time office based for the first 6 months and will then have a hybrid option. 

Working for this groundworks and civils landscaping business your  primary responsibility will be  leading and developing the finance function in the provision of timely and accurate financial information. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will shape and influence the finance function to lead and support delivery of our wider business plan to senior management.

Key financial responsibilities include:

Providing leadership and guidance in the development of finance function.
Responsibility for input to wider business plan through budget and long-range planning process.
Supporting due diligence on growth strategy.
Reviewing customer and supplier operational and commercial relationships, e.g. pyt terms, pricing
Reviewing and developing business continuity plan.
Communicating effectively with the Managing Director and Senior Management Team
Reviewing and developing financial processes, implementing change where required
Leading margin and cashflow improvement targets.
Preparation and responsibility for internal financial reports (Weekly cashflow, Monthly Management Accounts, Quarterly Projections)
Reviewing and developing KPI reporting – customer and project profitability analysis.
Balance sheet reconciliations
Supervision of preparation and responsibility for external financial reports (Audited Accounts)
Ensuring compliance and controls are fit for purpose
Monthly VAT Returns and other HMRC regulatory requirements
Tax planning.
Finance lease review.
Leading on cashflow management and introducing areas of improvement.
You will be an experienced and knowledgeable Accountant who ideally has experience of operating within the construction sector. A motivational leader, you will have the ability to develop a team whilst ensuring delivery of a successful financial provision. Excellent communication is essential as is proficiency in MS Excel and Word as well as accounting packages.
