Materials Planner, Manufacturing, BOM, ERP, Stoke to £34,000

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Materials Planer to join one of the world leading leisure brands. Due to growing they are requiring a BOM (Bill of Materials) Planner to play a pivotal role within their organisation, responsible for the accurate and efficient management of Bill of Materials, which is critical for production planning, inventory management, quality control and costing. This role is ensuring that products meet the highest quality standards and are delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed Bill of Materials for all products, working with components, raw materials, sub-assemblies and manufactured products.

• Working closely with the production team, establish and create robust operational routings and sub-contract processes, which will support the scheduling, costs and planning for each work centre.

• Working closely with cross functional teams, review and update BOMs as necessary to reflect design changes or improvements, ensuring accuracy of BOMs, validation and engineering change control processes are adhered to.

• Manage and document changes to BOMs as needed, ensuring that changes are properly communicated and implemented.

• Accurately input BOM configuration data into the company's ERP system or other relevant software.

• Work with the supply chain team and production to help manage and optimise inventory levels, by ensuring that BOMs are up-to-date and aligned with production needs and product specification.

• Participate in quality control processes, ensuring that BOM data supports quality standards and compliance.

• Support with production stock counts and where variances occur, investigate possible bill of material improvement requirements, including the review of waste material allowances.

• Generate regular reports and analysis related to BOMs, production and inventory for management and cross-functional teams.

• Prepare and Issue works orders to production and support the warehouse team with closing works orders down to ensure finished goods are registered in the ERP system.

Required Experience, Skills and Abilities

• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy is essential.

• Familiarity with ERP systems or BOM software (e.g., Dynamix AX, SAP, Oracle, or specialized BOM management tools).

• Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Understanding of inventory management principles
