The ideal Payroll Administrator should have dynamic communication and problem-solving skills who can process payroll effectively and efficiently for a company in the payroll industry.
Your responsibilities in this role
Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
Providing payroll information by answering questions and requests
Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
Organize and compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages in order to draft relevant reports
Updating payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, garnishments, multi state tax and job title and department/division transfers
Using federal and state regulations and guidelines, certify company compliance
Protect confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence
Handle payroll discrepancies through information collection and analysis
Execute relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports to circulate amongst department heads
Manage and review, including verify, source documents
Deliver assistance to payroll with internal and external audits
Handle reconciliation of employee deductions and other relevant liabilities
Put together summaries of employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to calculate all payroll liabilities
Other duties as assigned
Multistate Payroll experience preferred
Multi-state payroll experience
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
2+ years of relevant experience in payroll
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
Experience with high volume data entry
Prior experience using accounting software
Knowledgeable of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
Mastery of internal controls
Understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 – $29.00 per hour
