Description/Job Summary
The Supervisor, Financial Analysis is responsible for assisting Senior Management with the supervision and training of a team of Financial Analysts; monitoring daily activities and providing support and expertise in all aspects of financial analytics. This role assists in the preparation of profitability analysis, development of Timekeeper Cost Rates, headcount (FTE) reporting, Client and Matter modeling in relation to Alternative Fee Arrangements (AFA) and other ad hoc requests. They will need to develop a working knowledge of the 3E billing system, our financial dashboards and our analytics tools (cube, Power BI). This individual will be required to collaborate across all levels of Firm personnel, including Partners, and various administrative departments, including different groups within Accounting.
Responsibilities/Duties
Supervise and train Financial Analysts; manage day-to-day activities to ensure accurate and timely work product; assign tasks, and projects; monitor all work in progress and provide resolution as appropriate
Interview and make hiring recommendations; provide training and evaluate staff performance and conduct performance evaluations
Assist in Quarterly Profitability Analysis, Firm-wide Office and Section analytics showing YTD results and key metrics and Cost Rate development
Create monthly and ad-hoc Client/Matter Profitability Analysis, including break-even analyses
Develop new monthly Profitability packages for Office, Department and Section leaders, with focus on KPI's such as hours, leverage and expenses
Assure proper loading of cost rates to Ideate/Cube and reconciliation of rates
Assist leadership with analysis of current Client/Matter metrics and Office/Section metrics
Use financial analytics tools to create models to assist in building out pricing databases to improve matter budgeting
Assist in review of headcount (FTE) reporting to office managers to ensure proper coding
Work closely with other groups within Accounting (Billing, Rates & Compliance) on analysis of pricing arrangements in RFP process, fee agreement approval review, etc.
Assist with development and implementation of process improvements
Work on various special projects concerning profitability and projections for the department
Assist in identification of unusual patterns that require further action and make recommendations for action to management
Ensure compliance with the Firm's procedures, policies and guidelines
Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
Required Skills
Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing
Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
Basic knowledge of MS Excel; proficiency in MS Word
Ability to supervise and train employees
Working knowledge of basic compliance and internal control requirements
Preferred Skills
Experience with Elite or other legal billing system preferred
Required Experience
5 to 7 years of Financial Analysis and/or legal billing experience in legal or related field required
Required Education
Bachelor's degree required
Preferred Education
Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred

Salary Information
NY only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $120k to $140k at the time of posting.
The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
