Are you a talented Accounts Payable professional looking for a new opportunity where you can truly own the ledger and enjoy some work-life balance? We have an opening for a Purchase Ledger Specialist with our esteemed client, offering flexible hours between 30-40 per week to suit your lifestyle. (The salary will be pro-rata accordingly.)
Your Role:
As a Purchase Ledger Specialist, you will be the cornerstone of our client's finance department, taking sole responsibility for managing and maintaining their established Ledger. This isn’t a high-volume role, but your ownership of the ledger’s activities is key. Your responsibilities will include:
* Processing and reconciling purchase invoices with precision, ensuring adherence to company protocols.
* Verifying the authorisation of purchase invoices before payment.
* Managing employee expense administration tasks.
* Performing month-end cash book reconciliations.
* Engaging with suppliers, internal teams, management, and stakeholders to handle inquiries and resolve payment-related issues.
* Collaborating with the Financial Controller and colleagues to enhance processes and streamline operations within the purchase ledger function.
* Demonstrating leadership qualities and taking responsibility for the success of your department.

* Proven expertise in purchase ledger or accounts payable functions, with a comprehensive understanding of associated processes.
* Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
* Proficiency in using accounting software and the MS Office suite (training available for the proprietary in-house system).
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders and build strong supplier relationships.
* A proactive, solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
